Mediation is a process in which a qualified neutral third party facilitates resolution of conflict between individuals or institutions in dispute. One in which the mediator encourages an environment of trust, open communication and collaboration. The Neutral's objectivity, sensitivity and realistic understanding of workable options assists in leading parties to their voluntary and mutually agreed compromise where all feel comfortable committing in a formalized signed agreement. Difference of opinion is a regular part of daily life but it is when people find themselves unable to 'agree to disagree' that they can become locked in conflict which affects them and those around them in environments such as work place, school/college, home and family. In a society where people are living much longer than previous generations, conflict can arise among family members when significant and often life changing decisions need to be made. In addition to other areas of dispute, Kedleston Conflict Management, through its Founder and Principal Mediator, Margaret Unger, offers mediation services to families, individuals and medical institutions in the highly sensitive areas of Health/Eldercare and Bioethical issues. Margaret Unger has extensive training and experience in several areas of conflict resolution, resulting in her successful practice of mediation for the past 16 years. |
